Uploading a file in Google Drive and making it shareable

Overview

In order to create a viewable link in for a Canvas assignment, the link needs to be set to Public. This article will walk through the steps of uploading a file into Google Drive and creating a shareable link that can be posted in Canvas 

Instructions

1.  To create a viewable/shareable link, you must first upload the file to your Google Drive.  Open Google Drive, click “New,” and then click “File Upload”.

2.  Navigate to the file that you want to upload and click Open after selecting the file

3.  After the file is uploaded, Right Click on the file and select Get Sharable Link.

Click on {1) Restricted and then change the setting from Restricted to Anyone with Link
Click (2) Copy Link to copy the link to the clipboard.
Press the (3) Blue Done button to save the changes. 

Finally, paste the link into the Canvas assignment.
