Overview
Kaltura Personal Recorder is a great way to record your desktop, a webcam, a podcast, computer audio, or any combination of those items. Like most Desktop recorders, when recording, Kaltura has the option to allow you to move the recording setup bar out of the way. However, once you start recording, the recording start/stop button has a tendency to move to the taskbar. When you are finished recording you have to move the recorder setup bar back up to the screen and that entire process is recorded. Kaltura does offer basic video editing so you can erase the end of the recording so the end of the video is actually the end of your presentation and not you trying to find the recording setup bar and pressing stop. However, there is a much easier way to do this: Keyboard Shortcuts.
Instructions
For Mac:
Command + SHIFT + R will start, pause and resume the recording
Command + SHIFT + S will stop the recording
Command + SHIFT + C will cancel the recording
Command + SHIFT + M will open the video management console
For Windows:
CTRL + SHIFT + R will start, pause and resume the recording
CTRL + SHIFT + S will stop the recording
CTRL + SHIFT + C will cancel the recording
CTRL + SHIFT + M will open the video management console
