ScreenPal Installation (formerly Screencast-O-Matic)

Overview

Installing ScreenPal is a smooth process that only takes a few minutes. The program is compatible with both Windows and Mac operating systems. Our Anderson University Enterprise version has some advanced features such as unlimited recording*, removes the watermark, and provides the ability to add computer audio into the recording, edit audio, etc.  

*The free version can record up to fifteen minutes per recording

Instructions

  1. Visit https://screenpal.com/anderson and click the gray button that says  Launch the Recorder 

The password is available here. (You must be logged in to view the password.)

If prompted by an antivirus program about the safety of this file, are you sure you trust it, etc.  If the download is from https://screenpal.com/anderson then the file is safe.

  1. Locate the ScreenPal download (downloads are usually in the Download folder, Desktop or Documents) and open the file
  2. Press Next on the first setup screen to start the installation
  3. Decide whether you want anyone who uses the computer to be able to use the program or just you (this is in the context of logging into the computer)
    • If you are the only person who uses the computer, then we recommend choosing Install just for me to save space on the computer
  4. After you have chosen the User Install Preference, Press Install
    • ScreenPal will now install  onto the computer
  5. A final install screen will appear giving you the options to Start ScreenPal right now and Create a shortcut on your Desktop
    • After Preferences are selected, Press Finish to complete the installation 
  6. The first time you run the program you will need to follow the Post Install Instructions highlighted in Step 1
