Accessing Course Evaluation Reports (Instructors)

Course evaluations are conducted each semester using software called EvaluationKIT. The system is accessed via Canvas. Instructors and department administrators can access reports the day after final grades are due to the Registrar's office.

Accessing the EvaluationKIT Dashboard

Instructors have two ways of accessing EvaluationKIT in Canvas. Please note that if you have not yet had a course evaluation attached to any of your courses, you will not be able to access EvaluationKIT.

  1. In the main Canvas menu (grey menu at the far left), click Account and then EvaluationKIT User. -OR-
  2. In the menu for your course in Canvas, an EvaluationKIT Course link will appear at the bottom once the course is loaded. Click that to get to EvaluationKIT.

Either method will bring you to your home screen. Entering via course in Canvas (method 2) will leave the course menu opened, and this can take up valuable space on your screen. To collapse the course menu, click the icon at the top of the menu by the course name.

Downloading Course Evaluation Reports

Once you are on the EvaluationKIT Dashboard, you can view your reports by downloading them. Please note: Courses with fewer than three students are not evaluated to protect student anonymity. (The only exception to this is one-on-one music lessons.)

  1. Within the Project Results box (near the bottom of the screen), click the semester that you would like to view. (If you have multiple roles within EvaluationKIT, you may need to click the drop-down menu next to your name in the top-left to get to the correct home screen so that you will see the Project Results box.)
  2. The next screen will list all your courses that were evaluated. Click the icon in the far-right column, Report, and select the type of report you want to download.
  3. Reports are downloaded to your designated download folder. (Often, this is the Downloads folder or Desktop.) Reports open in Adobe Reader, and raw data opens in Excel. Reports can be printed from within these programs.
  4. To download multiple reports at once, check the boxes next to each report you want (or check the top box to select all). Click the  Batch Report icon above the Project Results table.
  5. You will be prompted to name the report and select the report type you would like. Then select how you would like those reports to be prepared. Click Go, and the reports will be downloaded to your computer.
