Activating the Phish Alert Button in Gmail

The Phish Alert Button in Gmail allows faculty and staff to report suspicious emails to ITS. By clicking on the Phish Alert Button, a Raven Solutions ticket is automatically created with a complete copy of the email so that ITS staff can evaluate the message and advise you on what you need to do. If you're suspicious of any emails, do not hesitate to use the Phish Alert Button.

Locating the Phish Alert Button

The Phish Alert Button is on the Gmail sidebar. You may not see this sidebar if you don't use the tools on it. The icon to open the sidebar seemingly blends into the background. To open the sidebar, click the icon at the bottom right corner of your Gmail screen:

Once the sidebar opens, you'll locate the Phish Alert Button:

Activating the Phish Alert Button

To activate the Phish Alert button, click on the Phish Hook button and enter the Access:

Click in the field above the blue Activate Phish Alert Button Now and paste the license key. (Click here if you do not have a license key.) Press the blue button and the Phish Alert button will be activated.
