Overview
Okta allows users to reset a forgotten password, but it requires that recovery options are set up before the password is lost. This article will walk you through setting up the self-service recovery options. If you have forgotten your password without setting up these options, don't hesitate to contact the ITS help desk for a password reset by submitting a Raven Solutions request.
Instructions
Setting Up For a Forgot Password Text Message
- Once logged into Okta at anderson.okta.com, click on your name in the top right corner. Click Settings from the drop-down menu.
- Click the green Edit Profile button. If you have logged in recently and don't see the Edit Profile button, skip steps 3 & 4.
- Enter your Password and click the Verify button.
- Click the Send Push option. Open the Okta Verify app on your mobile device and tap the Yes, it's me button.
- Under the Forgot Password Text Message heading, click the Add Phone Number button.
- Select the Country/Region and enter your phone number. Click the Send Code button.
- You will receive a text message with a code. Enter the code in the box and click the Verify button. Click Done.
Setting Up For a Forgot Password Email to a Non-AU Email
- Once logged into Okta, click on your name in the top right corner. Click Settings from the drop-down menu.
- Click the green Edit Profile button. If you have logged in recently and don't see the Edit Profile button, skip steps 3 & 4.
- Enter your Password and click the Verify button.
- Click the Send Push option. Open the Okta Verify app on your mobile device and tap the Yes, it's me button.
- Under the Personal Information heading, click the Edit button.
- Enter a non-AU email address into the Secondary email box. Click Save.
