Changing Your Password on Your AU Computer When You're Off-Campus (Faculty and Staff)

Instructions

If you are working remotely with your AU computer, you will need to follow a few extra steps to make sure that you will be able to log in to your computer when you return to campus. This is only available to Windows machines.

  1. If connected to the VPN, disconnect.
  2. Go to myau.anderson.edu
  3. On the left side of myau.anderson.edu click on the link "Reset Password".
  4. Follow the instructions to receive an email sent to your Ravenmail account that will have a link to reset your password. Make sure to check the date and time on the email so that you are clicking the most current link. Conversation mode in Gmail groups messages and clicking on a link in an old message will result in an "Invalid simple reset key" error message.
  5. Reset your password.
  6. Connect to the VPN as normal. Enter you new password if prompted.
  7. On your keyboard, press the Windows Key + L to lock your computer. Then log back in using your new password.

This should prevent any potential login problems when you return to campus. Let ITS know if you experience any issues.
