Summary
Users can sometimes see annoying popups in their web browsers. While harmless in nature; pressing the "close" button doesn't actually close them. To remove them you will need to remove them from the browser notification settings. This article is written from a Google Chrome perspective but can be applied to Firefox, Safari, Edge, etc.

Overview
Sometimes you may see random popup notifications in the bottom right-hand corner of your screen from things like Avast, Norton, Groupon, Flashplayer, Is Your Computer at Risk, etc.. While these popups are harmless; simply closing them does not stop them from reappearing.
Instructions
- Open Chrome
- Go to the top right side, click on the three dots, and choose Settings.

- Under “Privacy and security,” click Site settings.

- Scroll down and click on Notifications.

- Find the popups/offending sites on the list and click the three dots
- Choose Remove
