Body

Overview

Kaltura's My Media and Media Gallery are two similar tools within the Course Tools. These tools are similar, however, they perform different functions.  My Media is in the Global navigation and Media Gallery can only be found in the individual course navigation.

My Media

My Media is the central location for all of the videos created and stored in the user's Kaltura Media Space. My Media spans across all the user's courses and shows both published and unpublished content and allows users to upload, edit, and create videos. Users can also create video quizzes and caption videos. using My Media. Video Analytics are available in My Media by clicking on a video and then clicking the Actions button.

Media Gallery

Media Gallery only shows videos published to their respective Canvas courses. Instructors can access unpublished media by clicking + Add Media.  Media Gallery is also the location where users can start a Virtual Classroom session. Clicking the Start Meeting button will start a virtual classroom and any student who is in the Canvas Course can go into the course, click on Media Gallery, and click the Red Join Meeting Button (after a meeting is started the meeting button will change colors on the Meeting Gallery page).
