Kaltura: How to Publish Media

Overview

Publishing Media is the only way to make media viewable. The publishing process is a quick but necessary step for using Kaltura videos in Canvas. 

Instructions

  1. Access the media content via Media via the Course Media Gallery or the Global My Media
  2. Click on the checkbox to the upper left of each video you wish to publish (Selecting the checkbox up at the top of all the videos will select all of the videos).
  3. Click ACTIONS towards the upper right of the webpage ( a small dropdown menu will appear ). 
  4. Select the Publish Action
  5. A new window will appear--switch the toggle to Published and choose which courses you wish for the media to be available in. 
  6. After you have selected your courses, click Save to publish the videos

Note: Due to the naming convention of the courses you may not be able to tell which course is the current semester course you wish to publish the media content to. It's okay to publish the video to all courses with the same name. Since the previous semester's courses have ended, students will not have access to these courses.
